Diversity Research Grant for Early Career Psychologists

About this program

The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy (APA Division 29) awards one annual $1,000 Diversity Research Grant to support completion of psychotherapy research or applied projects that promote diversity (per APA definitions), with funds allowable for supplies, training, or travel to present findings. Recipients are expected to present or publish results; funds are paid in a single lump sum (to the recipient or institution), require completion of IRS W-9/1099 reporting, and a full accounting within six months of project completion (unused funds after two years must be returned). Eligible applicants are early career psychologists within 10 years of graduation who are members of the Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy. Submit electronically by March 1 a 1–2 page cover letter describing how the work promotes diversity and planned use of funds, a 1‑page budget, a 5–10 page proposal, one letter of recommendation, and CV(s) (single file) to Tracey A.
