Dr. Michael Bailey Scholarship Fund

About this program

The Community Foundation of Central Georgia administers the Dr. Michael Bailey Scholarship Fund, awarding a $25,000 annual scholarship to a rising fourth‑year M.D. student at Mercer University School of Medicine’s Macon Campus to honor leadership in invasive cardiology and support students pursuing innovative healthcare methodology and Internal Medicine. Applicants must be Georgia residents enrolled at Mercer (Macon) as rising fourth‑year M.D. students and intend to complete an Internal Medicine residency; one recipient is selected each year. Preference may be given to Eagle Scouts or Gold Award recipients, those with community service, and/or first‑generation college students, and the application—submitted via the Community Foundation scholarship portal—requires short answers about reasons for attending medical school and Mercer and motivation for Internal Medicine plus names and email addresses for two Mercer faculty members.
