FARA Postdoctoral Fellowship

About this program

FARA (Fanconi Anemia Research Alliance) offers a Postdoctoral Fellowship to support early-career investigators conducting biomedical research in Fanconi anemia, funding trainee salary (plus applicable fringe) for up to two years as the sole allowable budget item; stipends may not exceed the appropriate NIH stipend level and must be proportional to committed effort. Eligible applicants are postdoctoral trainees with fewer than six years of postdoctoral experience (career disruptions accounted for) and fewer than four years working in an FA lab as a postdoc. The PI may be either the trainee or the faculty advisor but both must be named; trainees must commit at least 75% effort to the project. Required materials include a personal statement outlining current position and future FA research plans, a statement of career goals, a jointly developed mentoring plan, and letters of support from all mentors; applications are submitted via FARA’s grant portal through two annual cycles (LOI Feb 15/app Apr 15 and LOI Aug 15/app Oct 15, with corresponding award/start windows).
