FRAXA Research Grants (Fellowships, Clinical Trials, Curative Therapies)

About this program

FRAXA Research Foundation awards over $1.5M annually for global Fragile X research, funding clinical trials (rolling submissions), curative-therapy development (rolling, up to $100,000/year), and fellowships that provide $50,000 per year for up to two years (fellowship applications due Feb 1). A Letter of Intent and prior discussion with FRAXA’s Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Michael Tranfaglia (mtranfaglia@fraxa.org), is required before submitting a full application; submit applications as a single PDF to the contacts specified by FRAXA. Applicants must be based at a university, hospital, or non‑profit research lab (worldwide), may submit only one fellowship per lab, and PIs should demonstrate adequate existing support and established model systems where applicable. FRAXA will not pay indirect costs and requires timely publication, sharing of reagents/methods, a final scientific report and a non‑confidential lay summary if funded.
