FSMFM/AAOGF Scholarship Award for Research Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology

About this program

The Foundation for SMFM and the American Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Foundation (AAOGF) offer the FSMFM/AAOGF Scholarship to support advanced laboratory- or clinical-based research training in obstetrics and gynecology at a U.S. or Canadian academic department, providing $120,000 per year for up to three consecutive years (initial one-year award renewable subject to satisfactory progress); funds may cover salary, technical support, supplies and required travel to the annual fellows’ retreat, but no indirect costs. Recipients must devote at least 75% effort to research, have a detailed mentoring plan and institutional support, submit annual progress reports and participate in site visits and presentation requirements, and funding continuity is contingent on staged evaluations. Applicants must hold an M.D., be eligible for the ABOG certification process at the time of award, be SMFM members, not currently hold R01/K-type awards, and submit the required application materials (including NIH-format research plan, mentor biosketch, budget) electronically by the stated deadline (applications accepted only if received by July 3).
