About this program

The American Australian Association's Graduate Education Fund awards scholarships of up to USD $40,000 to support innovative full‑time Masters, Ph.D., or postdoctoral study and research that enables Americans and Australians to undertake graduate study in each other’s countries. Awards are open to Australian, Indigenous Australian, American and Indigenous American applicants enrolled in or planning to enroll at accredited institutions in the destination country, with specialty categories (e.g., journalism and Indigenous scholarships) available. Two annual application rounds are offered—Australia to USA (Jan 1–Mar 31) and USA to Australia (Aug 1–Sep 30)—and applicants must meet full‑time enrollment and any program‑specific eligibility requirements.
