The Gruber Foundation, in collaboration with the International Astronomical Union, offers the Gruber Foundation Fellowship in Astrophysics to support exceptional early-career astronomers conducting theoretical, observational, or experimental research during a postdoctoral appointment. The US$75,000 annual grant is typically divided among three recipients and supports research-related expenses for one to two years. Applicants must be within three years of successfully defending their PhD and be final-year doctoral students with a postdoctoral offer, current postdocs with at least one year remaining, or transitioning to a new postdoctoral position beginning by October 1 of the award year. The host institution must be a center of excellence in a country different from that of the applicant’s PhD or previous postdoctoral appointment; complete applications, including a research proposal, host appointment letter, budget, CV, and two reference letters, are due March 22.
