About this program
The American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR) offers Heritage Excavation Fellowships, funded by Heritage Members, to support participants in ASOR‑affiliated archaeological excavations; awards may be donor‑designated to individuals or projects. Applicants must be ASOR members or students at an ASOR‑member institution, and excavation directors may apply on behalf of their projects; individual applications must include the dig director’s contact information. Fellowship recipients are required to submit a 250–350 word end‑of‑season report with three high‑resolution site photos by the deadline, sign a liability waiver and a release of rights for ASOR publication, and may use funds only for allowable direct (no indirect/overhead) expenses.
