James S.T. Yao Resident Research Award (SVS Foundation)

About this program

The SVS Foundation (Society for Vascular Surgery) offers the annual James S.T. Yao Resident Research Award to recognize publication-quality, unpublished, hypothesis-driven basic or translational research in vascular disease; the winner receives $5,000, a one-year subscription to the Journal of Vascular Surgery, and a presentation slot at the Vascular Annual Meeting. Applicants must be surgery residents, vascular surgery residents, or vascular surgery fellows enrolled in U.S. or Canadian training programs, with the majority of the work performed by the resident and an SVS member serving as the senior collaborator responsible for the project. Required materials include an abstract and complete manuscript (not previously published), the resident’s CV, and a letter from the SVS sponsoring member; manuscripts may be simultaneously submitted for publication but must remain under embargo until after the VAM presentation.
