The Field Museum’s Negaunee Integrative Research Center (Earth Sciences Section) invites applications for the privately funded John Caldwell Meeker Postdoctoral Fellowship, a full‑time two‑year appointment beginning ~2026‑06‑01 with compensation of $61,461.58/year plus a $3,000/year research allowance to support collections‑based research that complements or extends ongoing curatorial programs. Preferred candidates employ state‑of‑the‑art methodologies in collections‑based research across strengths such as phylogenetic systematics, comparative and functional morphology, paleobiology, paleobotany, meteoritics/cosmochemistry, and are expected to be onsite in Chicago at least three days/week (35 hours/week), publish at least one lead‑author paper per year, mentor undergraduates (particularly from underrepresented groups), and engage in outreach. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a field represented in the Earth Sciences Section at the time of appointment and submit a single combined PDF (1‑page research interests, up to 2‑page Meeker proposal, CV with publications, and three referee contacts) via the Field Museum careers page; review of applications begins 2026‑02‑23.
