Kapor Foundation Research Fellowship

About this program

Kapor Foundation’s Research Fellowship funds journalists and tech policy researchers to produce long-form investigative reporting or research, analysis, and evaluation that inform policy in the foundation’s priority areas, with a particular emphasis on responsible AI and tech ethics. Awards support projects focused on one of three priority areas—CS/AI Education, Innovation, or Governance—and aim to advance racial equity within the tech ecosystem. Eligible applicants include investigative journalists and academic or policy researchers whose work addresses systemic inequities and has clear policy relevance; applications are accepted on a rolling basis with first awards announced by June 30, 2026.
