Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship (MSARF) Summer Program

About this program

The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) funds the Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship (MSARF), a summer program that supports medical students for an eight-week research experience in an academic anesthesiology department with research training, clinical anesthesia activities, and an opportunity to present at the ASA ANESTHESIOLOGY annual meeting. FAER also offers an Advanced Medical Student Research Fellowship (AMSRF) for students who have previously completed MSARF. Eligibility is limited to current medical students for MSARF, with AMSRF restricted to MSARF alumni; student applications for the 2026 MSARF cycle are closed and host site applications for the 2027 program open September 15, 2026.
