About this program

National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) provides Travel Grant Awards to help early‑career researchers cover registration, travel, and accommodation to present alopecia areata–related research at relevant scientific meetings (e.g., SID, AAD, World Congress for Hair Research, EADV). Eligible applicants are graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or clinicians/researchers within two years of receiving an MD/PhD (or in postdoctoral training), must have an accepted oral presentation or live poster (AAD virtual‑only posters ineligible), and must attend the entire meeting; international applicants may be considered for U.S. conferences but NAAF will not sponsor visas. Awards are up to $1,250 for travel within the U.S. and $1,750 for international conferences (for U.S. residents) and up to $1,750 for non‑U.S. residents traveling to a U.S. conference; applicants may receive only one travel grant per calendar year. Applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the meeting (exceptions for late‑breaking abstracts) and include the abstract, acceptance confirmation, and presenter CV/biosketch (plus visa confirmation for international applicants).
