Native Youth Summer Camp Grants

About this program

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Native Youth Summer Camp Grants to Native Nations and Native-run organizations to support summer camps that connect Native youth with cultural and language preservation, health, wellness and self-care programming, including diabetes prevention education. Awards are small seed grants, donor-dependent and variable year-to-year (the program has granted $252,000 to 203 camps over the past 22 years); the Association is a 501(c)(3) and does not accept federal funds. Eligible applicants are Native Nations and Native-run organizations running summer programs for Native youth up to age 18; programs must be inclusive of LGBTQ2S+ Native youth, include health/diabetes prevention and cultural/language/community advocacy components, involve Elders/community, and maintain safety and infectious-disease prevention protocols.
