About this program

Society for Neuroscience’s Neuroscience Scholars Program (NSP) is a two‑year online training program for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers that provides career development through live events, webinars, mentoring, and community networking. Up to 16 Fellows receive complimentary SfN membership, annual travel awards to the SfN meeting, up to $1,500 in enrichment funds, and a senior-mentor/NSP-subcommittee mentoring team; the top ~100 eligible applicants are invited as Associates with access to mentor/alumni networks, webinars, and an invitation to the Early Career Poster Session. Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in a graduate degree program or a postdoctoral fellowship and must submit a CV, adviser biosketch, a two‑year plan (500 words), a professional goals statement (500 words), two letters of recommendation, and unofficial transcripts (graduate students: undergraduate and graduate; postdocs: graduate only); the 2026 application cycle is closed.
