NSPA/WINS Henry Messer Award for Advocacy in Neurosurgery

About this program

The CNS Foundation offers the NSPA/WINS Henry Messer Award for Advocacy in Neurosurgery to recognize sustained contributions to the professional development, mentorship, and advancement of individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in neurosurgery. The award provides $1,000 to support the recipient’s continued advocacy, education, research, mentorship, or community-engagement efforts.

Applicants may self-nominate or be nominated and must be CNS members in good standing who are medical students, neurosurgical residents/fellows, or practicing neurosurgeons. Applications require a personal statement and may include up to three supporting materials; selected recipients must attend the subsequent CNS Annual Meeting and submit an approximately 500-word impact statement.
