About this program

Fanconi Anemia Research Alliance (FARA) offers a Postdoctoral Research Award to support early-career investigators (with the postdoctoral trainee serving as PI) conducting research aligned with FARA Research Priorities, funding trainee salary/stipend (up to NIH levels prorated to effort), applicable fringe, supplies, and justified conference travel; maximum direct budget is $100,000/year for one or two years. Applicants must have completed at least 18 months but fewer than seven years of postdoctoral training (documented career disruptions may be considered) and commit a minimum of 75% effort to the project. Required materials include a personal statement describing current position and FA-related career plans, a mentoring plan jointly prepared by trainee and mentor(s), and mentor support letters. Stipend requests cannot exceed the NIH stipend for 100% effort and must be prorated if effort is less; annual submission cycles use LOI/Application deadlines of Feb 15/Apr 15 and Aug 15/Oct 15 respectively.
