About this program

Pfizer, in collaboration with the ACS Women Chemists Committee, offers the Emergent Leader Award to recognize up to eight individuals in advanced graduate studies or postdoctoral research in organic chemistry, synthetic methodology, total synthesis, medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, or chemical biology. Awardees receive a $1,500 stipend for travel expenses to present their research at the ACS Spring Meeting and are honored at WCC events. Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who identify as female (cis or trans) or were assigned female at birth, and are in their second year or beyond of graduate studies or postdoctoral research. Applications open April 1, 2025, and close July 15, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. ET.
