Broad Research Award for Graduate Students

About this program

The Ruth K. Broad Biomedical Research Foundation offers a prestigious one-year award supporting Duke graduate students conducting high-priority basic or translational neuroscience research from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Funding covers the standard graduate stipend, fringe benefits including health insurance, and tuition remission; indirect costs are not allowed. Applicants are preferably in their second or third year of graduate study, and international students are eligible and encouraged to apply. Awardees may be required to present at the Foundation’s annual Board meeting and must submit a final written report; applications are due February 1, 2026.
