The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation offers annual Research Grants of $150,000 or more per year for field-initiated projects that advance understanding of equitable economic mobility and inform systems change. Projects may address college access, workforce development, entrepreneurship, wealth-building, or related strategic priorities and may span one or more years. Applicants must propose rigorous, technically sound research with clear alignment among theory, questions, methods, outcomes, budget, and dissemination plans, and demonstrate relevant expertise and capacity. Research need not be conducted in Kansas City, but proposals must explain how findings or lessons will provide meaningful insight for the Kansas City region.
