Research Policy Fellowship (RPF) — APDD

About this program

Carnegie Corporation of New York supports the APDD Research Policy Fellowship to embed African scholars who received an Individual Research Fellowship in the past five years into African regional or national policy institutions, think tanks, or civil society organizations for a six-month placement (minimum four-month residency); fellows receive up to $12,000 to cover housing, travel, administrative, and meal costs. Fellows translate prior research into policy practice by researching a policy issue per an approved work plan, engaging with practitioners and policymakers, building policy design and advocacy capacities, and disseminating findings. Applicants must be African citizens residing in Africa who were Individual Research Fellowship recipients between 2021–2025 (academics, policy analysts, or practitioners); recipients are required to produce at least one African Peacebuilding Policy Review and Analysis Paper and one peer-reviewed article.
