RPB Medical Student Eye Research Fellowship

About this program

Research to Prevent Blindness offers a one-year, $30,000 Medical Student Eye Research Fellowship for medical students to take a year away from allopathic medical school to conduct ophthalmic research in an RPB-supported department. One fellowship, co-funded with The Glaucoma Foundation, supports glaucoma research under the mentorship of a glaucoma physician; up to $8,000 in relocation support may also be available. Applicants must be nominated by the chair of an RPB-supported ophthalmology department, be before their third or fourth year of medical school, and may not be MD/PhD students. Nomination deadlines are June 15 or December 15, followed by application deadlines of July 1 or January 10.
