RSA-Samuel H. Kress Research Fellowships in Renaissance Art History

The Renaissance Society of America offers the RSA–Samuel H. Kress Research Fellowships in Renaissance Art History, providing awards up to $3,000 to support archival, collection-, site-, library-, or other venue-based research and related expenses (e.g., copy‑editing, online access fees, digital images and permissions). Awards are intended for scholarship in Renaissance art history and prioritize contingent faculty, independent and self‑employed scholars, graduate students, early‑career researchers, and those with fewer than two single‑author books published. Applicants must be RSA members at the time of application and during the award year (beginning with the 2025 cycle, membership must have been held for at least 12 months prior to application) and must submit a 1,000‑word project description detailing questions, sources/methods, significance, work to be completed during the grant period, plus a curriculum vitae of no more than five pages.
