The Research Society for Victorian Periodicals (RSVP) offers the Sally Mitchell Dissertation Prize for outstanding dissertations examining the periodical press in Britain or territories where British magazines and newspapers were produced, circulated, and read during the long nineteenth century. Applications open January 15 and are due March 1, with the winner typically announced in July or August. Applicants must have successfully defended their dissertation during the previous calendar year and submit an application form, title page, abstract, table of contents, sample chapter, and dissertation advisor’s contact information through the online portal.
