Sandra L. Panther Fellowship in the History of Family Medicine

About this program

The AAFP Foundation’s Center for the History of Family Medicine offers one Sandra L. Panther Fellowship annually, providing a $3,000 award for onsite archival research conducted between June 1 and December 31. Projects must address the history of general practice, family practice, or Family Medicine in the United States and produce a durable scholarly or creative product. Eligible applicants include family physicians, students, residents, historians, scholars, educators, scientists, and other health professionals; CHFM staff, volunteers, and current Board of Curators members are ineligible. Applications require a form, three-page CV, support letter, project description, and list of intended archival records, and are accepted January 15 through March 31 at 11:59 p.m. CST.
