Sarnoff Fellowship Program - Research Training for Medical Students

About this program

Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation offers a one-year Sarnoff Fellowship for U.S. medical students to conduct intensive biomedical research in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular sciences, providing a $45,000 stipend plus up to $5,000 in allowances for travel, moving, health insurance and conference presentation. Fellows are selected by national competition, are matched with a Sarnoff Advisor and Preceptor for close mentorship from project inception through manuscript preparation, and present results at the Sarnoff Annual Scientific Meeting and other national meetings. Eligible applicants are enrolled in accredited U.S. medical schools (second- and third-year students encouraged; fourth-year students must provide an official graduation-deferment letter), MD/PhD students are not eligible, non‑U.S. citizens must maintain an appropriate visa, and applications are due January 7, 2026 (online application opens August 2025).
