Sarnoff Fellowship Program

About this program

The Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation offers the Sarnoff Fellowship, a one‑year intensive biomedical research fellowship providing a $45,000 stipend plus up to $5,000 in allowances to support an independent cardiovascular or cerebrovascular research project, manuscript preparation, and presentation at national meetings including the Sarnoff Annual Scientific Meeting. Fellows undertake hypothesis-driven research in a cardiovascular/cerebrovascular laboratory, participate in experimental design and data interpretation with a Preceptor, and are expected to present results at national conferences and the Foundation meeting. Eligible applicants are medical students enrolled in accredited U.S. medical schools; applicants need not identify a Preceptor or project at application because a Sarnoff Scientific Committee Advisor assists Preceptor selection and monitors progress. Applications open July 28, 2025 and close January 7, 2026, with finalists notified February 10, 2026, virtual interviews March 6–7, 2026, and awardees announced March 13, 2026.
