Scholar's Award

About this program

The Truman Library Institute offers a $30,000 Scholar’s Award to established postdoctoral scholars researching Harry S. Truman’s life and career or public and foreign policy issues of the Truman era. The award supports a substantial period of scholarly work away from teaching or other employment and is paid in two $15,000 installments. Applicants must base their project partly on extensive research at the Truman Library and intend to produce a book-length manuscript; each individual may receive the award only once. Applications, including a curriculum vitae, project description, bibliography, and two reference letters, are due December 15 of odd-numbered years.
