SLB Presidential Scholars Program

About this program

Society for Leukocyte Biology’s Presidential Scholars Program is a merit-based award for trainees—postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate/post‑baccalaureate researchers—recognizing research excellence with cash prizes and presentation opportunities at the Society’s Annual Meeting. Applicants must be current SLB members; postdoctoral applicants may have no more than six cumulative years in postdoctoral positions, graduate applicants must be currently enrolled and degree‑seeking, and undergraduate applicants must be enrolled or in a post‑baccalaureate research program; reapplication is allowed while at the appropriate career stage. Finalists in the postdoctoral and graduate categories are chosen from submitted abstracts (top three per category) and judged on oral presentations and Q&A at the meeting; winners receive $750, two finalists $500 each, non‑finalists may receive $200 Merit Finalist awards, and undergraduate award amounts vary.
