Thomas Wolfe Society Student Literary Prizes

About this program

The Thomas Wolfe Society sponsors annual Student Literary Prizes to foster scholarship on Thomas Wolfe and encourage student participation in the Society’s annual conference; awards include a $300 prize, a one‑year Society membership, complimentary conference registration and banquet, with possible individual travel funding and multiple prizes possible. Eligible applicants are full‑time undergraduate or graduate students at accredited not‑for‑profit institutions (worldwide) or those who have graduated within the past year, and the work must be original student scholarship. Applicants must submit an essay abstract of at least 300 words, a brief biographical statement, CV, and list of relevant awards/coursework (a faculty letter of support is encouraged); abstracts are judged on promise for development into an original presentation engaging Wolfe’s writing, life, influence, legacy, or related scholarship. Selected students must present a 15–20 minute paper and attend the entire May conference to qualify; submit materials to David Radavich (radavich@earthlink.net) by January 10, with winners announced before March 15.
