Tingye Li Innovation Prize (CLEO)

About this program

Offered at CLEO and funded by Alliance Fiber Optic Products, AT&T, Optica, the IEEE Photonics Society, the IEEE Communications Society, Thorlabs, the Li family and other supporters, the Tingye Li Innovation Prize (established 2013) awards US$3,000 to recognize innovation and research excellence in laser science and optical fiber communications for an outstanding early‑career paper accepted to CLEO. Eligible applicants must be current early‑career members of Optica, the IEEE Communications Society, or the IEEE Photonics Society, be within five years of receiving their terminal degree, and be the submitting author responsible for and demonstrating innovative ideas in an accepted CLEO paper or Post Deadline Paper. Applicants must opt into the competition during the regular CLEO paper submission process and follow the submission‑site instructions to be considered.
