Wilson Center Research Fellowship

About this program

The Wilson Center's flagship Research Fellowship funds residencies for scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals to conduct policy-relevant, nonpartisan research and writing on pressing U.S. and global foreign policy challenges while engaging with policymakers in Washington and other fellows. Eligible applicants must propose nonpartisan, policy-relevant projects addressing key foreign policy issues; fellows are expected to produce research outputs and participate in Center activities. The 2026–27 competition is closed (recipients were notified in April 2026); prospective applicants should check back in summer 2026 for the 2027–28 cycle and may direct inquiries to fellowships@wilsoncenter.org.
