Younger Chemist Leadership Institute Award (YCC)

About this program

The American Chemical Society Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) awards the Younger Chemist Leadership Institute Award to fund 15 ACS members under 40 to attend the Younger Chemist Leadership Development Workshop and the ACS Leadership Institute, with awards covering registration, transportation, lodging, and meals (fifteen alternates are invited but must fund their own attendance). The program aims to develop leadership skills for professional and volunteer roles, promote ACS volunteer leadership, and facilitate networking and best-practice exchange through interactive sessions. Applicants must be current ACS members under age 40 who are graduate students, post‑doctoral researchers, or within the first seven years of a professional career; prior recipients are ineligible, while international applicants and undergraduates are encouraged to apply. Required materials include a description of leadership/volunteer experience, a 100‑word biography, current CV/resume (PDF/DOC), and one letter of recommendation (may be emailed to info@ycc-acs.org and must include the applicant’s name and date).
