About this program

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) offers a postdoctoral fellowship through the NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) to investigate the formation and evolution of prebiotic organics in extraterrestrial environments, focusing on astrochemistry's role in the origin of life. This research aims to model protoplanetary disk evolution, conduct astrochemical experiments, and perform quantum chemical computations to understand chemical dynamics in star and planet formation. Eligibility is open to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, foreign nationals eligible for J-1 visa status, and applicants with pending immigration status (asylees or refugees) holding a valid EAD card. Candidates should possess a background in laboratory or theoretical quantum chemistry or experience with computer modeling.
