762 of the 925 institutions in the FY2024 survey reported nonprofit funding, $6.7 billion of it, 5.7% of all US research spending that year. University of Washington, Seattle leads at $228.8 million, ranked #1 for nonprofit funding, ahead of Stanford University at $218.8 million. 424 spent more than in FY2023, 283 spent less and 8 spent the same, and 47 more reported for the first time. The list runs down to Fort Hays State University at $1 thousand. Every name on it links to that institution's own page.
